Hello!
My name is Cindi Salvo. I graduated from Auburn University in 1979 with a degree in education. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 30 years.
We have two children. Our son is 26 and is married to a fourth grade teacher! Our daughter is 22 and attends the University of South Alabama. We are very proud of both of them. We also have a chocolate lab named Remy.
I taught secondary school for three years after graduating from Auburn. When our children were born, I became a stay-at-home mom. Once both of our children were in school, I began substitute teaching. Then I decided it was time to go back to school so I enrolled at UAH in elementary education in 1997 and finished in 1998.
About that time, the elementary school my children attended expanded. They had an opening for a third grade teacher and asked if I would be interested. I was hired for the 1998-1999 school year and was then ‘promoted’ to fourth grade in 2007! Now I am working on my master's degree at the University of West Alabama.
I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school, August 10. Be sure to have your name on all of your supplies and make sure you know how you will be going home. Have a great summer and I'll see you soon.
